Snow+Rock 22 Sep 2018

(Provisional Results)

The Snow+Rock Enduro, a bucket list riding experience, is set to take place in the mountains of Lesotho at Afriski Mountain Resort from 22 – 25 September 2018.

In partnership with Wild West and Raceworx KTM, 2 days of riding will feature lowland and high-altitude routes over remote sections of the Maluti Mountains. Novice to advanced enduro riders are catered for on a selection of self-navigated or guided routes lead by experienced Afriski guides with their knowledge of the local routes through valleys, rivers and rugged terrain.

“Snow+Rock Enduro is a perfect getaway to explore the incredible riding terrain and scenery Lesotho has to offer. A great adventure without the competitive pressure of sanctioned races” Hein Kock

This is an event for the whole family, with other adventure activities included. Mountain biking, monster rolling, paintball games and guided hikes will be on offer for all members of your family. Hearty meals, hot chocolate or Maluti beers will also be on offer at Africa’s highest restaurant – Sky Restaurant.

Afriski Mountain Resort offers a range of accommodation and catering options from backpackers to mountain chalets.

The Lowland ride start is situated just over the Calendonspoort border (approximately 350km from Johannesburg). It is possible to leave home and drive directly to the Snow+Rock Enduro start on Saturday morning. If you’d rather break up the trip, you can stay over in Fouriesberg, Clarens or Afriski on Friday evening.

Programme

Saturday 11am: Lowland Ride

You have the option either to self navigate and race your mates or join the group outride and, at a slower pace, take in the scenery along the way.

The Altitude Ride is roughly 35km of amazing riding through meandering valleys with a combination of technical and flowing terrain. Do it multiple times at race pace. Alternatively, take it slower and enjoy a day out with a group of mates… the choice is yours.

Sunday night: Live entertainment…

… and proper party at Sky Restaurant, the highest restaurant in Africa. No need to hold back because Monday is a public holiday… remember?
